What sets these hot tubs apart is the combination — a wood-fired soak and a cold plunge in a single, beautifully crafted garden structure, built from thermally treated pine that weathers the UK climate with ease. The contrast of heat and cold is one of the oldest wellness rituals in the world, and these are the models our customers return to most. Choose your size and bring the Nordic spa experience home for good.

FAQs

What makes wood-fired hot tubs such a compelling choice for UK gardens? There's something deeply satisfying about a wood-fired hot tub that goes beyond the soak itself. The ritual of building the fire, the crackle of burning logs, and the gradual warming of the water create an experience that feels intentional and restorative — far removed from the flick-of-a-switch routine. For UK gardens, they also offer a beautifully natural aesthetic that blends into landscaping rather than dominating it. Independent of electricity, they work anywhere — terraces, rural retreats, coastal gardens — making them one of the most versatile and rewarding garden investments available.

How does the hot tub and cold plunge combination actually improve day-to-day wellbeing? The hot-cold cycle triggers a powerful physiological response. Heat opens blood vessels and relaxes muscles, while cold immersion causes them to contract — together, they act like a pump for the circulatory system. Regular use is associated with reduced muscle soreness, improved sleep quality, heightened alertness, and a notable uplift in mood. Many users report that incorporating contrast therapy into their routine changes how they feel across the entire week, not just in the moment. It's one of those rare home additions that delivers a tangible, felt benefit every single time.

Why do customers who own a wood-fired hot tub say it's one of the best things they've ever added to their home? The feedback is remarkably consistent: owners didn't fully anticipate how much they'd use it, or how much it would change how they spend time at home. A hot tub becomes a focal point — for family evenings, for entertaining, for solo decompression after a demanding week. It shifts how people relate to their outdoor space, particularly through autumn and winter when gardens would otherwise go unused. Many describe it as the one home purchase that actively gets better the longer they own it, because the habit builds and the ritual deepens.

How does thermally treated pine hold up so well over time in a British climate? Thermally modified wood — the material used across these hot tubs — undergoes a high-temperature treatment process that fundamentally changes its cellular structure. The result is a material that is far more resistant to moisture absorption, swelling, warping, and decay than untreated timber. It performs exceptionally well through the wet British winters and temperature fluctuations that would degrade lesser materials. The process also deepens the colour naturally, giving the wood its distinctive rich tone without the need for chemical treatments. It's one of the reasons these tubs look just as good several years in as they do on day one.

Why is the wood-fired experience something that never really gets old? Unlike plug-in hot tubs where the routine becomes automatic, a wood-fired soak retains a sense of occasion. Lighting the fire, watching the steam rise, and easing into water that you've heated yourself adds a layer of satisfaction that doesn't diminish with repetition. There's also something deeply primal about it — fire, water, warmth — that taps into a kind of enjoyment that feels timeless. Owners consistently note that guests are always delighted by the experience, regardless of how many times they've visited, which makes it one of those rare home features that earns its place again and again.

What makes these hot tubs feel authentically Scandinavian rather than just styled that way? Authenticity comes from origin. The Polar Spa range is designed with direct Scandinavian influence — a culture where outdoor bathing is woven into everyday life and where the craft of building for cold, wet conditions has been refined over generations. The thermally treated pine, the high-output wood-burning stoves, the proportions and silhouette of the tubs themselves — all reflect a tradition of simplicity, functionality, and natural materials that the Nordic region has championed long before wellness became a global trend. These aren't products that borrow an aesthetic; they're the real expression of it.
